Up the ante on those arches

Strong feet are important for runners to absorb impact forces and efficiently propel us forward, in this post we discuss one way to strengthen them 🏃‍♀️

One strategy to strengthen the midfoot is performing a foot arch, also known as "foot doming" or "short foot" exercise. But once you've mastered this, where to from there? 🤔

💪 To increase the challenge on the midfoot, remove the support underneath the arch with the use of either the Foot Bridge or weight plates. This position overloads the midfoot region by passively removing its support.

This can then lead to further progressions by performing either heavy isometric pushes/holds or compound movements like squats or lunges. 🏋️‍♀️

Give these a try & let us know how you go! 👟👍
