The best way to fix your tight calves

The best way to fix your tight calves: no it's not stretching

Do your calves tense up or ache during your runs? 🏃‍♂️ If you're quick to assume stretching is the answer, you might want to reconsider.

As a runner, your calves are among the most active muscle groups. When they lack strength, they tire out more quickly, leading to that familiar sensation of tightness. While it's tempting to believe stretching will relieve this, the true solution lies in bolstering their strength. 💡

Integrate the following exercises into your routine twice a week:

  1. Weighted Single Leg Calf Raises: 🏋️‍♂️ Use a weight that challenges you by the 8th rep. Execute 8 reps for each leg.

  2. Pogo Jumps: 🐇 Enhance your calf and Achilles' explosive power. Aim for short ground contact times, maintain stiff knees, and leap as high as possible. Do 3 sets of 8 jumps.

Runners, don't forget to like, share, and tag a friend who always halts mid-run to stretch! 🛑🏃‍♀️
